BRAD, an adventurous boy of 13, has only one dream – to grow up and be like his father, JOHN, a courageous man’s man – a hero. John, with the help of his friends, has taken great strides to immerse Brad and MARC, Brad’s best friend, into the world of men.

After Brad’s parents, John and CAROLINE, are mysteriously murdered during a family camping trip to the north woods, Brad is yanked out of their world and thrust into the imposing and emasculating world of Brad’s aunt, ROSE, who is bent on removing any trace of Brad’s father from his life, convinced that his adventurousness was what caused the death of her younger sister, Caroline.

After 13 years with Rose and her domesticated husband CHARLIE, the man Brad, finds himself tamed and cowardly, anything but a hero, lost in a world of business boredom. Brad’s repressed dream of being like his father is vented in secret through his exquisite artwork which centers mostly on an ever evolving “alien” creature – one that Brad believes is responsible for the death of his parents. He has even sent these drawings to his friend, Marc, owner and CEO of a video game dynasty, who loves the drawings and offers Brad a job designing his alien warriors. When faced with a choice between a boring secure future and an adventurous unknown one, Brad chooses to follow his heart and passion. In the wake of his decision, he leaves behind his disappointed aunt who refuses to release his inheritance.

Brad heads to Minnesota to reconnect with his best friend, and hopefully, a lucrative new career. He finds himself spending his first night in town with HEATHER, Marc’s spunky sister-in-law.  Things start to heat up between them but, when Brad is faced with an opportunity to defend Heather, he falls woefully short, inept.  Marc steps in to save the day; Heather is totally turned off – wanting Brad to be a man and finding him sadly lacking.

Marc, saddened by the loss of strength in his friend, offers to help Brad regain his backbone and invites him to join them on an annual camping trip to the north woods, the same north woods where Brad’s parents were murdered. Brad, desperate, accepts. Once in the woods, the sights, sounds and smells rekindle Brad’s memories, nearly incapacitating him. Marc increasingly imparts strength and courage back into Brad which recaptures Heather’s heart. He’s becoming the man she needs and wants.

Just when Brad begins to believe in himself and his ability to be the strong man that his father had trained him to be, he finds himself and his friends caught in a dangerous situation, the intended victims of ritualistic murderers.  And, as if this alone isn’t enough, the friends fall into a cavern filled with items not of this world and come face to face with Brad’s creature – definitely not of this world. Faced with an ominous foe, escape is the only option but harder than they anticipated. When all are caught but Brad, he finds himself outnumbered and outgunned.  He must face with fearlessness the enemy who threatens the lives of those he loves. To his surprise, the cavern holds the key that unlocks his heart and reconnects him to his father, awakening the Warrior Hero within.
